Hungarian designer Gabriella Asztalos has designed modern collection “Floating Garden” which consists of metallic baskets for plant. But not ordinary. They are made to make plants appear as if they are floating through the air filling up spaces that are usually left blank and thus offering a unique 3D effect to any room that they are placed in. This sculptural and artistic Volna Table was created by Turkish design firm Nüvist. “It was very important to create soft and serene experience in the tangible and the visual sense for this type of table design. The Beehive chair created by New Zealand-based architectural designer Graham Roebeck won the inaugural 2011 Formica Formations competition. “Exploring the theme of today’s highly portable art and media –interpreted through the analogy of sculpture as frozen music- the form is that of a non portable guitar pick and a gourd that are rendered immovable. Frozen. Constructed from Lakepine Zero low emitting MDF, Beehive has beeswax polish to the edges, and uses Warm White Formica high pressure laminate to the vertical faces.”
